"Love Like This" is an incredibly bright, uplifting, abstract expressionist oil painting by contemporary artist, Monica Shulman. Punctuating her rhythmic, gestural marks and paint drips with varying shades of pink, magenta, purple, red and orange, Monica creates a vivid,layered painting that will add dimension to any space. The wide range of red and pink colors, values and shades is mesmerizing and energizing. The varied texture, paint drips and bold brushwork makes the eye travel around the painting.
This sculptural painting is part of a larger series of works that explores dynamic tension with color and movement. Monica's gestures and marks create connection and energy, and her intuitive mark-making reflect her spirit and the humanness of her experiences. Gesso and Oil on gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted white.
In 2019 this painting was selected by curators as part of the "Next Generation" exhibit at PULSE Miami to celebrate the fair's 15th anniversary.
Monica has been featured in various publications including Popular Photography, Create magazine, and the Huffington Post. In 2019 she was named "Best Artist" in Westchester by Westchester magazine. Her work has been shown at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City, Photo LA, Art Market Hamptons, PULSE Art Fair, and the New York Mercantile Exchange, among others.
