Born in France during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III, this oil on canvas painting depicts a delicate arrangement of fruits and flowers standing out beautifully on a neutral background. The roses on the right, displayed in a grey glazed vase, are leading our eyes to the mouth-watering grapes, pears and apples depicted on the left of the composition.
