This stunning box is made of gilt bronze. The top and four sides are decorated in high relief with a total of nine dragons chasing a flaming pearl. There is a hinged latch on the front. The interior is partially lined with sandalwood. On the bottom of the box, it is marked "China". This is a very heavy, solid piece, weighing just under 6 pounds.
