Description: This Early 20th Century 6 panel Asian lacquer screen has been in my family for almost 50 years now. It … more This Early 20th Century 6 panel Asian lacquer screen has been in my family for almost 50 years now. It features a palace courtyard scene on one side, full of character and characters. the other side features a tranquil nature setting featuring birds and a tree with Spring blossoms.

It has been cherished and well cared for, but there has been some very slight cracking in lacquer and some paint loss in small areas of detail over the years of ownership, but is in otherwise outstanding condition for its age with fine, bright and smooth lacquer finish. The hardware is brass and in fine working condition, and shows wonderful patina on the brass strapping around the wood of the feet.

Each of the panel measures: 72" High, 16" Wide and 5/8" thick. It must weigh nearly 80 pounds or I am getting old, or both. But it is a piece that is both substantial and delicate in appearance denoting the fine craftsmanship of the piece.
