This is a very scarce example of a Doel Reed original aquatint etching. It is pencil signed in the bottom … more This is a very scarce example of a Doel Reed original aquatint etching. It is pencil signed in the bottom right margin and in the block just above. There is also and impressed what looks to be Doel Reed Stamp in front of the signature. It is pencil numbered in the lower left margin 17/25, low edition. It looks to depict the interior of an old Spanish or adobe home with a stairwell lit from above with a lantern. This piece looks to be in its original matte from the associated American artist. It is attached on one side and has not been rematted. It comes unframed. Image size is 11“ x 12 3/4”, the print paper itself is 13“ x 17 3/4”, and the matte measures 18“ x 22“. There is significant toning discovered when the mat was lifted from the paper. This can easily be cleaned. less
