Who is Tiefeng Jiang?
Chinese artist Tiefeng Jiang was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in China in 1938. He began exploring painting and arts as a small child, and knew he found his passion. In 1964, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.
He is known as the founder of the Yunnan School of Painting. Tiefeng Jiang's paintings are brightly colored, abstract pieces. His paintings include a large mural finished in 1980 for the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, which he completed just three years before he moved to the U.S. to teach art at the University of Southern California.
His work has been shown in many public exhibitions including those at the Portland Museum in Virginia and the New England Centre of Contemporary Art.
Jiang’s universal themes compose of love, strength, and emotion understood and recognized by all. The message his art transposes is the bonds of harmony and peace that all things living should practice daily to achieve. less
