The gessoed and … more This elegant pair of 19th c. candle prickets have a sophisticated gilt finish with red undertone accents. The gessoed and painted finish shows a romantically degraded surface appropriate for years of service. Gesso is a hard compound of plaster of Paris or whiting in glue, used in sculpture or as a base for gilding or painting on wood. The metal bobeches at the top of the prickets will conveniently catch the dripping candle wax. This timeless pair will make a special addition to your home or sanctuary.
