this beautiful Mid Century hanging lamp features a round metal … more a vintage 1960s Dutch Scandinavian design pendant light by Philips
this beautiful Mid Century hanging lamp features a round metal shade with black enamel finish and a clear textured glass lower part bottom. the top part of the lamp is a tube shape with chrome finish.
I purchased this lamp in the Netherlands, i was told this lamp came from a high end jewelry shop in Den Hague.
designed by famous Dutch industrial designer Louis Kalff
it has the original Philips sticker label on the inside of the shade.
holds one regular size bulb, hardwired with original ceiling cap
with the original European wiring, for USA use it will need to be rewired, Europe and USA have a different voltage.
in excellent vintage condition, no dents, no chips or cracks. very minor wear.

Louis Kalff
Kalff was born in 1897 in Holland. He studied at the Technic University of Delft where he developed his skills and acknowledgment in design, sculpture, architecture and ceramic. In 1924, he joined the advertising department of the famous appliances brand names Philips.
He is the designer of the brand logo! Five years after he joined the company, he founded the Philips lights department, then he became the artistic director of the brand. Alongside this, he designed posters, book covers for several companies. He was also in charge of the lights department of the World Exhibition of Barcelona, Paris and Antwerp. less
