Ted Shawn created the Denishawn School with former wife Ruth St. Denis and later became known for his all-male dance company called "Ted Shawn and His Men Dancers." He was also founder and creator of "Jacob's Pillow" Dance Festival in Massachusetts. Ted Shawn wrote and published nine books that provided a foundation for Modern Dance.
