Lovely custom lamp incorporating a Japanese ceramic bottle. The bottle appears is believed to have originated at one of the … more Lovely custom lamp incorporating a Japanese ceramic bottle. The bottle appears is believed to have originated at one of the Mashiko potteries and was made in the manner of Shoji Hamada with nuka over tenmoku glazing. The black-painted wooden base employs visible "proud" joinery at each corner...a fairly common detail employed by Japanese makers. There is minor paint loss to the base...easily addressable. There is a matching wooden spacer at the top between the bottle and brass fittings. Though the socket and plug appear to have been replaced at some point, the rest of the fittings appear to be original and ca. 1960's. The lamp has been lightly cleaned and the ceramic portion is intact/undamaged. less
