Rare set of two wooden colored prints from the famous paintings by Margaret Isabel Dovaston (5 March 1884 – 24 December 1954).
Dovaston was a British artist who became particularly well known for her oil paintings of historical interior English genre scenes, often depicting groups of figures in Eighteenth Century dress.
Made in England last century using a patented-applied-for process to create an antiqued wooden block board wall-hanging.
The result is a charming antique style wooden boards which look very Dickensian. They can be wall hung by with the applied fitting to the back or by standing against a surface.
Measurements each:
W. 20 1/8" X D. 16 1/8" X H. 1/2"
Condition is very good. Colors and definitions are excellent, minor wear to the surface. Some wear to the frames. less
