It is attached and can be used as is with care. Ideally, it would be re-soldered or glued to prevent further damage. Lots of minor signs of age and use; minor dents, spots, patina, all as shown. None detract. This is a gorgeous piece. Please note, this item has been packed and readied for shipment immediately after photos were taken. It is raw brass, not lacquered, and so may darken or age while awaiting sale and delivery. Can be easily refreshed, if desired, with a light polish on arrival. less

Stamped “Made in Italy.” Not water tight, but just great overflowing with faux greenery or topped-up with faux limes, potpourri, etc. Or fill it with a few big bagfuls of garlic in the kitchen. Also makes a stunning finial turned upside down, to top a bookcase or cabinet. The soldering along one scalloped panel has failed, as shown. Minor dings. spots, and patina from age and use. Rare and beautifully done. less
