The bowl and tines of the fork display a gold wash over the silver, the handle is plain sterling. (It is bit difficult to discern the difference is photos.)

Inspired by the historic Newburyport area of Massachusetts, Towle Old Colonial is a gorgeous sterling flatware pattern featuring a glossy finish accented with beads and a pointed tip. The design magnificence doesn't stop there, however, as the handles also showcase a scroll design enhanced by delicate piercing.

Old Colonial is one of Towle's longest running designs, debuting in 1895 (originally called Colonial). One of Old Colonial's most notable features is the grooves in the bowls of the spoons and forks.
