Born in China during the Western Han dynasty (206 BC-24 AD), this half-naked and armless figurine features a polished surface showing its original polychrome. These figurines (usually men) were found in burials associated with members of the royal family. Originally clothed, they are all armless, the holes in their shoulders that run through the chest suggesting removable arms, probably made of wood. With its nice proportions and weathered patina, this Chinese Han dynasty sculpture will make for an excellent decorative addition to any home. See less
