Miid century modern vintage rare trinket / humidor / storage desk top / jewelry box made of Brazilian Rosewood by Alfred Klitgaard with the enamel plaque inlay by fine artist Bodil Eje, both of Denmark.
Klitgaard worked with a few other enamel artists for the decorations on his rosewood creations, but it seems that his work with Eje is some of the more highly sought after. This is a versatile trinket box with adjustable section. Signed on the bottom “Klitgaard Denmark” with his usual impressed mark. We do not believe his work was exported in any regular manner, thus it’s scarcity in the United States and outside Denmark. Additionally, because each object was handmade by Klitgaard to exacting standards production volume was low.
Dimensions: W 6 3/4” x D 4” x 1 1/2" and the inlaid enamel art plaque is W 2" x D 1"
