Aryen Hart
Hart's shimmering circular outline bifurcated by a horizon line is reminiscent of a solar eclipse or a setting sun which suggests the powerful heat of the day in Arizona. Hart's process of painting directly on steel with quick drying polymer paint and scumbled metallic surfaces infuses his work with the sun's kinetic energy. Originally planning a career as an electrical engineer, in the 1980s, Hart melded his interest in science with art in a spiritual and psychological investigation he calls "luminous sanctuaries." less
