Evocative postcard size woodblock print of: Toshogu Shrine in Ueno Park, Tokyo, Japan. A snowy scene with the Tori gate in the foreground that leads unto the temple. A few brave souls under parasols struggle through the snow. This park is famous for it's Spring Cherry Blossoms.
Desired baren marks are visible, delicate bokashi, average bleed through.
These smaller post card size/mini prints were made after WWll in Japan for locals and foreigners alike, as a momento of their visit. The detail is incredible and the artist allows us a look back in time via these little portals of artwork. Wood block is an very time consuming and exacting art. Very collectable now.
