The French term plein air means out of doors and refers to the practice of painting entire finished pictures outside. This very pleasing oil painting has a beautiful gilt accented frame and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner, "Fr. Borgen".

Approximate dimensions of the painting alone: 16" Wide x 24" High

There is some natural wear to the frame, especially around the edges and corners, that has happened over time. Faint cracks are apparent on the frame in the corners and in other areas, as shown in the photos. The gilt patina has different grades of coloration. Antique items have been previously owned and loved, and will show some level of wear consistent with this prior use. There is a wire across the back, so this piece is ready to be displayed.
