A superb set of two chinoiserie tea bowls, or cups. Each piece is decorated with hand painted designs of flowers, cranes and figures. The first cup, is our favorite, and features a white crane, standing among blooming pink and white lotus flowers. The bottom is stamped in red. The second bowl, features two figures dressed in traditional attire. They are surrounded by lush cherry blossoms and palm leaves. This piece is not stamped.
We’d love to see this set used to dip fingers at a table setting in between courses. Or perhaps as they were intended, as tea cups.
