Whimsical 19th century Italian cabinet armoire or linen press crafted in the Baroque taste. The case features a painted finish …

Whimsical 19th century Italian cabinet armoire or linen press crafted in the Baroque taste. The case features a painted finish with two large storage doors decorated with Trompe L'oeil windows having a monkey on one door and a suspended cabbage above an armillary in a neoclassical motif on the other door. The top of the case has a shaped cornice that conforms to the doors decorated with acanthus scrolls. The bottom sideboard has large storage drawers with patinated metal pulls. Supported by turned legs conjoined with shaped stretchers ending with bun style feet. The cabinet has a rustic aged patina and a lovely country Italian style. From an estate in Santa Barbara, CA.
