This piece is one of Kaczmarczyk's earlier clay works from the first half of the 1990's and the matte glaze is fired on. I also have other pieces that match this pattern.

Madeline Kaczmarczyk was a professional potter before joining the faculty at Aquinas College in the Ceramics Dept. in 1999. Her personal work incorporates wheel throwing and hand building with an interest in combining materials and technology with clay. She has exhibited at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery, the American Craft Museum in NYC, as well as national juried art fairs and galleries. less
