This Andy Warhol Foundation rare vintage 1995 collector's Pop Art offset lithograph print " Myths : Mickey Mouse " 1981, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Published by Te Neues Publishing Company in 1995, printed in Germany with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1981 titled " Myths : Mickey Mouse ".
In 1981 while choosing subjects from Hollywood films or 1950's television, Warhol created the Mickey Mouse Series. This fantasy figure from childhood, a quintessential American image, is a typical Warhol icon. With The Mickey Mouse Series, Warhol worked in a highly stylized manner using an innovative photos silkscreen technique, bright color combinations and repeated images.
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
The rare out of print collector's offset lithograph Pop Art print measures 11 13/16" W X 16" H. It is printed on high quality heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors.
