A faience charger with a domed center, a Southern European parallel to antique Delftware, decorated in soft blue with rinceaux scrolls on the undulating rim and an Italianate countryside landscape vignette in the interior. A slight hint of manganese tints the whitish ground. Probably first half of the 19th century. Good antique condition with a few glaze flake losses and some typical firing imperfections/inclusions.
