Akira Kurosaki (Japanese, b. 1937) - Closed Room Woodblock Print (1971, #4/30). From an edition of 30. Signed, titled, and numbered in pencil in the bottom corner. This print is displayed in the diamond shape, under glass. Framed in silver metal with a dusty pink matte. Some wear to paper from age.

The artistic career of Akira Kurosaki began in the 1960s and 1970s. His style from that period was a kind of mixture of semi-abstract and surreal - typical for the post-war period. Akira Kurosaki exhibited widely in and outside Japan. His participations in the print biennales in Maastricht, Tokyo, Krakow, Lubljana, Paris and Norway made him known to an international audience.
Works by the artist are in renowned international museums like the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, Royal Gallery of Paintings, Netherlands.
