These rugs also originate from the Middle Atlas Mountain range of Morocco. What sets them apart is the use of reds, pinks, oranges/tans, and/or purple hues. These rugs also feature irregular geometric patterns where the appeal lies in the uniqueness and designer’s native craftsmanship. They are created using the typical knotting techniques practiced by Berber tribes - but with the knot being pulled tighter, the rugs require less wool. This enables the weaver to create the intricate geometric patterns that Boujad rugs are famous for.
