It originally was a story illustration in a French magazine article about the dance performance. The image has an exquisite quality. Dressed in her delicate pink and white costume with beaded strands flowing from her arm and hat, the dancer strikes a pose against the dark black stage background. She is graceful, poised and strikingly elegant. The print was illustrated by the well acclaimed Art Deco illustrator Umberto Brunelleschi. Brunelleschi was born in Italy but spent his career life in Paris. He is best known for his fashion pochoirs, costume designs, and book illustrations. His work is now sold at art auctions worldwide. This image is typical of his talent. Note the intricacies and detailing on the dancer's dress bodice, on her face, and on the simplicity of the beaded threads. This image is clean and pristine. Original to 1922, NOT a modern day reproduction. Makes a great gift for the ballet dancer or lover of dance. 7.75 x 8.75 inches in size. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting. See less
