Fantastic photolithograph poster hand painted by Adolf Franz Munzer (German 1870-1953). The original Bal-Pare Deutsches theater poster is painted over and signed by Munzer dated 1905. Laid on a linen backing and set in an ebonized frame with a protective plexiglass cover. Munzer lived in Paris then in Munich and worked as an Illustrator. His style is closely linked to late French impressionism. He painted elegant women and scenes from Bohemian lifestyles in the decorative arts Jugendstil period of Germany. The poster has an aged patina with craquelure on the lacquered finish. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
