This is a photograph of Helleborus niger (Christmas Carol). The Hellebore earned it's folk name 'the Christmas Rose' because according to legend, a young girl visited baby Jesus shortly after his birth in Bethlehem. When she saw all the lavish gifts bestowed upon him she felt ashamed that she had nothing to give him and began to cry. Where her tears fell, a beautiful Hellebore sprouted up! She picked this flower and gave it to the baby Jesus.
This is a giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag which is a beautiful matte paper that adds a velvety depth to the black background in the photograph.
This is a signed open edition print.
+ This photograph comes un-framed and un-mounted
+ I recommend using non-reflective glass when framing
