Very large ceramic table lamp in a SHONVIRKE style similar to the ceramics of Herman Kahler. Art Nouveau style. Squeeze bag glaze decorating gives the glaze a three-dimensional feel and appearance. The DANICO pottery was in operation in Denmark from 1919 to 1929. Two of the primary potters came from the Herman August Kahler Pottery works thus the style similarities. The lamp was always a lamp not a drilled vase. The overall height is 28" to the top of the finial. The ceramic body is 16" high. The widest part of the vase is 10" in diameter. The base is 6" in diameter. the top is 7.5" in diameter. The metal top is probably adjustable in height but the knob to loosen the shaft is not operable. Both sockets have been replaced and are operable. The metal has some corrosion and I am not sure of the type of metal. It could be brass or steel.
Excellent condition. There is no lampshade.
Marked on the bottom twice "Danico Made In Denmark 210." less
