This is an early 20th century antique headboard in the Rococo style. It has elements of gold leaf on the front and back ornate segments. The Rococo flourishes are re-enforced with steel banding.
The front side of the headboard has been modified to hold a clip in bed frame. This segment can be removed and re-worked by a restorer.
The piece is an original antique and so bears many nicks and scratches common with a solid wood headboard of its age.
This item was purchased from an antique dealer at $7500 for an interior design project. less
