A beautiful Bone China pitcher with a hand painted Bullfinch perched on a branch with fruit and leaves. The front and is signed W. Powell. The has a painted Branch with leaves and flowers. The jug resembles a coopered barrel shape with a twig handle.
This piece has the Royal Worcester mark on the bottom that dates it to 1935. Also appearing on the bottom is the word, “Bullfinch”.
Measures approximately, 4” tall x 5”. Pictured with a quarter coin for scale. Good condition, a very minor nick under the W signature, pictured.
William Powell was one of the top artists that worked for Royal Worcester. He worked from 1900 to 1950. He was an expert on English Birds and spent his spare time photographing them.
