A rare table lamp designed by Leroy C. Doane for Miller Lamp Company, USA. Originally desinged in 1928 and with US Patent No. 1,818,120 - Filed July 7, 1928, the lamp later went through several versions of redesigns with subtle different details and later been known as "Pagoda" lamp. It was often mistakenly attributed to Water Von Nessen or K.E.M Webber.
The small lamp features double sweeping canopy shade and a glass finial, reminiscent of a silhouette of pagoda. It is a wonderful transitional design piece from Art Deco to streamline modernism. The brass enameled steel surface has a wonderful mellow patina that has aged beautifully. The piece is signed with cast manufacturer's mark to underside: [The Miller Company] and its model number 30919-A.
