It appears to be made with old Chinese rosewood (Huagnhuali) around 1950-1970s, possibly as diplomatic gift. The surface of the rose wood features pronounced linear grains, featuring and many swirling ghost faces (on the top surface), and a natural warm patina, yet the interior is lack of noticeable use wear, indicating the reasoning of our dating. The trays exhibit exposed box joints on the corners. The piece makes a wonderful display to showcase the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship. See less
