Original Oil Painting, Plein Air Landscape of Whaleshead Beach, Brookings, OR. When you look very closely, you will see this painting has tiny bits of sand that were blown in while painting, which I really love.
Plein Air Painting means painting out of doors, on location. It is a challenging way to paint, you battle the weather and well meaning visitors, but the reward is you have a direct, intense experience than is not possible when using a photo reference. I consider myself a documentary painter, I like to make records of who we are and what we see everyday.
This piece measures 16" High x 20" wide. Painted with excellent oil paints on a birch panel with traditional gesso and protected with a matte varnish, this piece will outlive us all. Framed in a modern natural maple floater frame, it will fit right in to any decor. It is being stored in my studio and can be shipped immediately. less
