About the artist: Zamy Steynovitz was born in Liegnitz, Poland in January 15, 1951. His family emigrated to Israel in 1957. His formal education at the Art School in Tel-Aviv and from the Royal Academy in London, Upon completing his studies he quickly established his place in the art world with exhibitions his work worldwide. His choice of subjects was strongly influenced by Jewish tradition and folklore, enhanced by a rich choice of warm tones and colors. His work expresses a universal humanistic idea: man’s connection to his heritage and physical surroundings. He died in September 2000. less
