A 19th century Italian late Baroque elaborately carved giltwood pedestal stand from the estate of legendary American businessman, T. Boone Pickens.
Exceptionally executed, exotic, highly unusual in form, hand carved, decadent gilded bronze - gold with enchanting luster, featuring square box shaped case top with canted corners, richly decorated, paneled sides with finely sculpted textured wood edge framing exceptional floral rosette, the box shaped case top molded and stepped with central inset upholstered wood top cover, that can lift off to reveal open interior that can be used for concealed storage or as a cachepot planter box.
The case exterior finished in brilliant gilded gold, held aloft by four highly stylized molded shaped scroll supports decorated with curve and counter-curve S' scrolls, double C' scrolls, acanthus leaf foliage, openwork, on pineapple finial topped moulded plinth base accented by intricate running ornamentation carvings in relief, rising on four low feet.
Provenance:
Acquired from the estate of the late T. Boone Pickens (1928-2019). An iconic Texas and Oklahoma oil tycoon, American business magnate, billionaire, financier, and philanthropist.
Stunning, elegantly sophisticated design, with presence of luxurious timeless opulence, having beautiful gracefully aged patina over the whole, rustically distressed, chippy paint loss, adding antIque character and old world charm. Solid, sturdy and structurally sound. Great condition.
Can be used as a pedestal to display sculpture, statue or decorative arts, Jardinière plant stand, side table, even bedside as a nightstand, or on its own makes for a luxurious artistic accent piece, sure to add interest and become the focal point of any space.

The breadth of T. Boone Pickens' career is impressive. He built one of the largest independent natural gas oil companies in the United States and flourished as an entrepreneur thereafter, generating hundreds of billions of dollars in the process. Among his lengthy accolades, Time magazine has identified him one of its "100 Most Influential People", Financial World named him "CEO of the Decade" in 1989, and Oil and Gas Investor identified him as one of the "100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum Century."

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
