This Ernest Pignon Ernest rare vintage 1978 offset loithograph print custom framed French Street Art poster " Rimbuad Dans Paris " is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The vintage French Street Art poster is printed in France in 1978. It features an artwork image by the artist Ernest Pignon Ernest titled " Rimbaud Dans Paris ".
Ernest Pignon Ernest ( B. 1942 ) The French Fluxus Street artist was born in Nice France in 1942. He is one of the founding fathers of Street Art in France and worldwide. Since 1966 he has made the street both the setting and subject of his extraordinary works of art. By the 1970's his posters of poet Arthur Rimbaud could be seen all over France. With charcoal and black chalk, he creates life size figures that trigger face to face encounters with passers by on the streets where he pastes them up all over the city of Paris. he uses dreams and poetry in alleys and streets based on the principles of ephemeral Urban Art.
Pignon's work inspires and defend many major social and political issues through his artistic expressions including the bombing of Nagasaki, The AIDS epidemic in South Africa, and the struggle against Apartheid. A master of his artistry, Pignon Ernest manages to capture the beauty and darkness of the world. Sometimes in the same work capturing the essence of both elements, in order to question and stimulate the conscience with his voice. He is a visonaire who continues to inspire younger generations and to re establish himself as the legend of his craft over and over again.
James Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud ( 1854 - 1891 ) was a French Surrealist poet well known for his contributions to Symbolism, and his lasting influence on Modern literature and arts. He began writing at a very early age, during his late adolescence and early adulthood he had produced the bulk of his literary output by age 20. Rimbaud was known to have been a Libertine and a restless soul, having been the first open and defiant gay couple in literary history with his tumultuous relationship with fellow French Bohemian poet Paul Verlaine.
The rare out of print framed French Street Art poster measures 34 3/4" W X 24 1/2" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern brushed matte finish charcoal gray metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent condition The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
