Famed Mariano Fortuny the celebrated Spanish artist and designer entered the fashion industry in 1907 with his creation of the Delphos gown. Soon after he began work on the luxury textiles in Venice Italy. Inspired by light, the textiles are conceived as paintings, a further testament to the genius of Fortuny. Structured layers of color and transparency work together to achieve the depth of design and pattern. The sensuality of colors and effects with light on the sumptuous metallics make the Fortuny textiles one of the most desirable on earth.
