This is famed sister Parish/Albert Hadley custom one of a kind beautiful luxuriously comfortable chaise, daybed, bench- the lofty down and feather seat cushion is upholstered in a lustrous light celadon Scalamandre silk, the pillow fabric is a silk white on white trapunto design technique, (a rare embroidery technique, $1,200. per yd.). The unique designed sculptured base and legs are finished in a ceruse natural oak. The silk fabric is in good condition with some wear to corner. Provenance-Designed by Famed Socialite Decorator Sister Parish and Albert Hadley for the Edith Hale Harkness Estate in the late 1970s.Provenance-Designed by Famed Socialite Decorator Sister Parish and Albert Hadley for the Edith Hale Harkness Estate in the early 1980s. Sister Parish (1910-1994) was the last of America’s grand dame decorators — and arguably, she was the greatest of them all-decorating the White House family quarters for Jackie Kennedy. Parish continues to influence American notions of taste and style to this day. That is a legacy.
