I believe they are made from very thin plywood. The attention to detail the artist created them is amazing. Down to the little strings. Violin and bow are mounted on dark brown soft felt like material. The frame is actually similar to a shadowbox, minus the glass. The gold leaf painted wood frame is also carved with ridges. The violin is true to the color in the cover picture, Very light golden hue and grain in the wood. This can be hung in any study, Italian styled home, traditional, and of course any musician's home. A fine intricate sculpture for your wall. Easy to hang from wired back. less
