This is a matted French Art Deco 1931 print that came from an unbound album of interior room wall paper … Read more This is a matted French Art Deco 1931 print that came from an unbound album of interior room wall paper designs. It features the look of Modernistic home styling. This image is for the sitting room. Note the graphics of the image, the wonderful profusion of flowers in the wallpaper, the deco chairs, table, tea set and mantle. Note too the cornered moldings and the decorative seascape images. The color palette is strong; the gold color tones are done in metallic ink (difficult to see in my picture scans). Metallic inks were used in lithography during the Art Deco years and were rare and specific to this period. It is signed with the artist’s initials in lower right.The image is in horizontal format, 11 x 8.75 inches in size. Comes matted in a white 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
