Born in ShanXi during 19th century, this cabinet was used to store scholar’s books, painting rolls and other objects in a three-shelf compartment. Unlike the normal design for Scholar's Cabinets to fit drawers in main compartment, this cabinet carries a unique design with two mini drawers in each side of the bottom for objects in privacy. The overall proportion of this cabinet was nearly perfect. Its dark brown lacquer greatly matches the original full moon fitting, where natural patina and aged rust gives a sense of antique treasure. This cabinet will easily be a centerpiece for any open space such as living or family area. See less
