This particular piece adapts an Anatolian Kilim pattern into pile with a particular sense of grandeur, capturing both the opulence of the red and gold medallion pattern as well as the finesse of the bukagi arrow motifs in the blue background—a time-honored motif widely believed to symbolize themes of familial and romantic unity.
