Elegant Louis XV French Providential style two drawer chest/lowboy with ornate brass handles made by Kindel. Lovely detailed serpentine front with dove tailed drawers standing on top of curved cabriole legs. Marked 9153 at bottom.

The Kindel Furniture Company was founded in 1901 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The original company was founded by Charles J. Kindel, whose vision for the company was to produce high quality furniture with high attention to detail and precision. This artistic variety makes the Kindel line of furniture especially desirable for the high-end designer market.
Winterthur was the former home of Henry Francis Dupont, a wealthy collector of fine American and European Vintages. His collection housed at Winterthur comprises over 85,000 objects, including a fine and important collection of historic furniture. The fine craftsmanship and attention to detail of Kindel Company attracted the museum’s eye when they were searching for a fine workshop house to recreate a line of reproduction furniture based on Dupont’s amazing collection. Thus, Kindel was awarded the coveted license to reproduce some of the most outstanding collection at Winterthur.
