The original lampshade was replaced with a new, custom shade in the early 1970's and is in very good condition with no glaring signs of wear. The brass base and collar have some residual polish and/or accumulated dust in the crevices. The bottom of the lamp (shown in photos) is open but may have been covered with green felt which has left some residue along with tarnishing consistent with the age of the lamp.
