Maddox Tables began business in the mid-to-late 1800s and is best known for their secretary desks with special features.

The top piece of this furniture features a locking glass front cabinet with three shelves, and a beautifully ornate finial at the top. The bottom piece, a locking fold-down desk, features five drawers, eight cubbies and a small cabinet, along with two secret compartments, one of the special features of such secretaries. These all sit above four serpentine drawers with brass handles and ball and claw feet.

Solid brass hardware featured throughout, two locks, the hinges for the fold-down front and drawer pulls. A key with green tassel finishes off the secretary.

As is standard, this furniture is actually two pieces. You will see the original "Mad-Ox" Maddox Tables labels for each piece in the pictures, along with the Genuine Mahogany label from the Mahogany Association, stamped with #134, the number for Maddox. less
