Mercury glass (or silvered glass) is glass that was blown double walled, then silvered between the layers with a liquid silvering solution, and sealed. The glass appears 'heavy' or 'thick' to the eye. Mercury glass is an antique decorative art glass produced by a few glassmakers in Bohemia, England and America from the mid 1800's through the early 1900's. These genuine old mirrors are difficult to find. It is a lovely old mirror with a 'soft' glow - you'll reflect beautifully in it. It can be hung vertically or horizontally. less
