Marvelous textural elements: an unglazed slab with a hole for a candle or flowers was applied to a thick, round base with a spiral pattern to both sides and a man's face to the front. The face is composed of intricate details like strands of hair and delicate features.
Tremendous work of 1970s studio ceramics executed by a master ceramicist. Unsigned, but attributed to the ceramicist, "Polk," based on provenance (other examples of the artist from the same grouping are listed separately).
