This painting deals the color of blood and blood in itself as a metaphor for catharsis. There have been many literature metaphors for growth of a flower out of spilt blood. To me, the hearts in our body that push this precious resource through our veins, often symbolizes our mental and emotional life force. Sometimes its easy to feel that we have released it all too often.
