19th century Russian Niello tobacco case with hallmarks.
A beautiful heavy silver niello cigarette case with Russian Hallmarks on the goldwash inside. It is beautifully engraved on the front in fine details with foliage and flowers. In the center, surrounded by a wreath, a monogram is engraved. The bottom is designed with an irregular serpentine niello pattern. Rough and heavy use left all four corners dented. It doesn’t take away from the excellent quality craftsmanship of a highly talented silversmith.
Condition is fair. Corners are dented. See pics.
